About Megan E. Riehl, PsyD

Dr. Megan Riehl is a key opinion leader in the field of psychogastroenterology. She is an associate professor of medicine at the University of Michigan, where she is the Clinical Director of GI Behavioral Health. She enjoys her full-time clinical practice, leading GI behavioral health trainings and providing peer consultation. Dr. Riehl holds several leadership positions within Michigan Medicine committed to the areas of diversity, equity, inclusion, and well-being. She is actively involved in various professional GI organizations, including membership on the national board of trustees with the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation. Her research and clinical expertise have led to several peer-reviewed publications and book chapters, invited commentaries, and co-authorship of the book Mind Your Gut: The Science-based, Whole-body Guide to Living Well with IBS. Together with world-renowned digestive health expert Kate Scarlata, she has launched “The Gut Health Podcast,” in which these enthusiastic healthcare advocates discuss all aspects of gut health with leading experts in the field.
